God Did It Again January 29, 2009, Thursday

Last night at nSight (our youth service @ Grace Fellowship) we had a record 69 students. I know that is entirely a God thing considering that a year ago we were having 15-20. But the coolest part is that we have students coming to hear the word of God only. We don’t do anything special as far as programing goes, but our students continually come to worship our Savior. Most nights we don’t even have music. We also have seen 6 students give their lives to Christ in the last month and that never gets old. Last night I challenged them to define who Jesus is, who do they actually believe He is, and do their lives miror that defination. If they claim Jesus is their personal Lord and Savior then they should want to live their lives to reflect that belief.
So who is Jesus to you? I would love to know.
40 Day Revolution January 23, 2009, Friday

This Sunday I have about 10 students starting the 40 Day Revolution. Operation Light force offers the student guide for this. We had a group of students complete this revolution in the fall and had great success. After seeing that success I decided that this was something that we need to be doing year round not just in the fall.
Each student has different objectives to complete each day. These assignments really cause the students to look differently at their faith and actions. They have to rely on each other for support and God for strength. Each student is fasting throughout the 40 days also. This is an impactfull 40 days in each of the student’s life. They are challenged but come away with a feeling of confidence and completion.
The first group of students did run into adversity, but they were able to draw together and rely on God for the strength to overcome. I truly believe that the lessons that they learn during this 40 day period will impact their walk with Christ and the relationships they have with other people for the rest of their lives.
Please be praying for our students who are participating in this 40 day revolution.
Being Good Isn’t Good Enough January 19, 2009, Monday

Is being a good person good enough?
This seems to be a huge question in our society these days. Everything you hear is that being good enough is all that matters. So then the answer would be yes. But, I believe this is a major problem in our society as well as in the church. We have got to start living the truth. There is no way to see the heaven side of eternity without a relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus him self told us this when He said ”I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 It is time we start living our beliefs and serving others. Jesus gave us the perfect example of how to live our lives.
It’s time the Church steps up and starts reaching out. We cannot wait to live our love. There is a generation of young people growing up with the belief that being a good person is all you need to do. So we can either step up and teach them that it is essential to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, or continue to ignore the misconceptions about life and watch them fall away from the ONE true God.
