I want to know what is your favorite part of Acts. . . when you open your bible and turn to Acts what do you leave with after reading? I would like to include some of your thoughts in a sermon series I am currently working on.
Thanks for your help
Before…I Will Answer February 12, 2009, Thursday

I send out a verse to my youth group every morning via SMS text message. Today I sent Isaiah 65:24 in this verse God tells us ”that before they call, I will answer”.
This part of the verse prompted a conversation between Lindsay and I about what exactly “before they call, I will answer” means.
Does this mean that:
- It doesn’t matter what we say because the answer has already been given?
- Does God only know before we call only if we actually take the time to call (If we don’t call on Him would He have already answered)?
- Is this the same thing as predestination?
I believe that prayer is completely for us… if we are going to have a healthy relationship with God we need to communicate with Him. When God says “before they call” it implies that we will in-fact call on Him. Think back to right after 9/11. All of the sudden everybody was going to God for help. So I think He was answering before we were calling. I don’t believe that by God knowing before we call means that He determines what we will bring to Him…I think it means that He is all-knowing therefore He knows before hand and answers when He knows.
So what do you think?
